Prolotherapy is an injection-based treatment, also known as a non-surgical orthopedic technique, aimed at treating chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Prolotherapy is based on the stimulation of the regenerative processes of the capsular, tendon and ligament structures in order to restore joint stability, in particular by increasing their tensile strength. Prolotherapy is indicated in the treatment of chronic benign pain that is of a degenerative and post-traumatic origin and in general in patients who do not respond to other therapies.
