Postural control is a key element in carrying out the main activities of daily life (walking, sitting and getting up from a chair, etc). Degenerative alteration due to the aging of postural control systems is one of the causal factors of loss of balance in elderly people, resulting in increased postural instability, decreased postural adaptive reactions and an increased risk of falling. Based on an analysis of the treatment protocols adopted in the numerous studies included in a systematic review, we have elaborated a proposal for hydrotherapy in general.
