This clinical case describes the functional evaluation, interventions and goals of a patient affected by a shoulder problem who wished to recover full function. The patient, a 34-year-old woman, a secretary by profession, had a rotator cuff tendinopathy due to overload which had begun 5 months earlier. The patient reported pain at commencement of sports activities and at rest. The physiotherapy intervention focused on pain reduction, recovery of function and strength through a program of eccentric shoulder exercises.
