Fibromyalgia is a chronic pathological condition characterized by chronic widespread pain associated with generalized fatigue and sleep disturbances that affect the patient’s functional capacity and indirectly the quality of life. Recent EULAR (European League Against Rheumatism) recommendations support the importance of physical exercise as an effective approach in the non-pharmacological management of the disease. The aquatic setting, thanks to the intrinsic properties of water, provides sensomotor stimuli different from those present in a terrestrial (gravity) environment, allowing the patient to experience movement in a facilitating and safe environment.
