Abstract
The horse: a biopsycosocial rehabilitation approach

Equine Assisted Therapy, also called equestrian rehabilitation, is a form of therapy that exploits the movement of the horse as an integral part of the therapeutic program. This article presents the model of rehabilitation methodology proposed and implemented by the “Vittorio di Capua” equestrian rehabilitation center (Struttura Complessa di Neuropsichiatria dell’Infanzia e dell’Adolescenza of Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda, Milan) is presented, which is based on the Italian National Guidelines for Animal Assisted Interventions.
