Symptomatic lumbar spinal stenosis is a rather common clinical condition in adulthood, often associated with degenerative phenomena. It is characterized by a compression of the neural and vascular structures within the vertebral canal. Probably due to an excessive transfer of forces onto the posterior segment of the column, the presence of alterations of an arthritic type appears to be the main cause of degenerative spinal stenosis. Through the medical interview and subjective assessment, it is possible to arrive at a correct classification of the disease also in terms of the differential diagnosis with respect to other clinical conditions.
