Hydrokinesitherapy is a rehabilitative activity that uses water as the environment in which to guide the recovery of the patient – whether child or adult – from diseases related to movement disorders. However, in the field of physiotherapy and research, the aquatic setting does not meet with great enthusiasm. Designing, planning and implementing an exercise in water, in fact, requires a revolution in thinking: it is not sufficient simply to transpose the exercises from the gym to the therapeutic pool. To achieve the therapeutic goals, it is necessary to learn to use the fundamentals of this environment. In order to increase knowledge and expertise in this sector, an Association – Aquatea – has been founded with the aim of creating a space for the exchange of experiences among professionals, to share good practice and enrich clinical practice in water with knowledge and methodological rigor.
