Home prossimo numero Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain and generalized hypersensitivity to painful stimuli, without external stimuli. In many cases there are also sleep disturbance, chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety, and depression. The pathophysiology is not well understood. Diagnosis is based on the clinical criteria set out by the American College of Rheumatology, physical examination, and exclusion of other causes for symptoms attributed to fibromyalgia. In this section we analyse the correct way to conduct the interview, the clinical reasoning that leads to the decision about the therapy, the gold standard clinical tests, the treatment with manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.
