In the diagnosis of symptomatic rhizarthrosis, the most commonly used test is the grinding test, despite the lack of validation studies and its low sensitivity. In 2015, some authors proposed the introduction of two new provocative tests called thumb adduction and thumb extension. This article describes their mode of execution and indices of diagnostic accuracy.
