Traditional radiology was the first investigative imaging technique to be discovered and it is still the most widely used to date. It allows a panoramic view of the structure that is being studied and, amongst all the techniques of radiological imaging, is the one that provides the most “objective” investigation. The different projections make it possible to understand the real spatial arrangement of the parts that make up the body structure, especially bone.
With radiology it is possible to distinguish and diagnose various diseases that can affect the bone structure such as trauma, degenerative disease, inflammation, neoplasms, metabolic disease and malformation.
This article analyses the different possibilities offered by this method of investigation.
