Conservative treatment results as the first choice in the management of FAI symptoms and is based on the use of a few strategies: load modification, use of anti-inflammatory drugs, patient education, physiotherapy and therapeutic exercise. Recent studies have shown that the best tools the physiotherapist can bring to bear on conservative management of the condition are strengthening of the deep abdominal muscles (core stability training); training in proper motor control of the lumbosacral region and pelvis; improving mobility of the hip joint, as much as possible; and improving the strength of the hip muscles to maximize dynamic stability.
