This survey presents the results of field research carried out in the rehabilitation outpatient clinic of a Nursing Home in Lazio, which compared the effects of hydrotherapy vs. rehabilitation in the gym only in patients following hip replacement surgery. In both groups, we also investigated the degree of patient satisfaction with: the care received, the interrelation with the healthcare personnel, and the environmental friendliness. The findings, obtained through administration of the Harris Hip Score before and after the rehabilitation, show the usefulness of hydrotherapy in terms of both a greater recovery of personal skills, with equal treatment time, and good satisfaction regarding the relations with personnel and the treatment received.
