The anterior cruciate ligament of the knee joint plays an essential role in joint stability of the knee. Anterior cruciate ligament injuries are the most frequent of all sporting injuries. The usual treatment is anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction but often patients prefer rehabilitation to increase muscle strength and the dynamic stability of the knee joint. Is it more appropriate an early or a delayed reconstruction?
