The anterior cruciate ligament, which consists of two bundles, can be completely or partially injured: the best investigation technique for studying soft tissue is MRI. The anterior cruciate ligament, if injured, alters its structure and presents an increased signal intensity with all the different MRI sequence. Based on the direct and indirect signs that allow one to make the diagnosis of partial or complete injury, a different rehabilitation programme can be planned.
