The goal of post-operative rehabilitation after hip arthroplasty is the functional recovery of the operated joint. To increase the patient’s adherence to the therapy and at the same time to guarantee high rehabilitation performances at a lower cost, exergames have recently been introduced into clinical practice. Thanks to their flexibility and ease of use, they can be used also at home, as an alternative to supervised outpatient activity. The aim of this study is to compare the effectiveness of a home program for postoperative rehabilitation of hip arthroplasty using an inertial sensors-based biofeedback device, with that of traditional clinical practice in an outpatient setting under supervision.
