Approximately one-third of those who suffer a tibiotarsal joint sprain will have residual symptoms in the long term with variable repercussions of function during sports and daily life; therefore, identifying early prognostic factors capable of impairing optimal recovery can help the clinician set up an early intervention in at-risk individuals and improve the outcome.
