Rotator cuff-related shoulder pain is a very common musculoskeletal problem that impacts performance and the essential demands of daily life. It is most common in individuals who perform activities that require use of the upper limb in overhead positions. Some studies suggest incorporating joint mobilizations in the treatment of rotator cuff-related shoulder pain, in addition to therapeutic exercise, to improve outcomes compared with exercise as the sole rehabilitative tool. Joint techniques, using joint glides, are intended to work on restricting movement and reducing reactivity.
