Interventional Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine is an emerging branch of medicine that combines minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to treat diseases of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. Evolved from the United States and established globally, this discipline integrates advanced techniques, such as infiltration and radiofrequency, with the increasing use of musculoskeletal ultrasound. In Italy, the discipline has found fertile ground, thanks in part to the concept of the Individual Rehabilitation Project, promoting a multidisciplinary approach to pain management and functional recovery, taking advantage of regenerative and orthobiologic technologies.
