In the assessment of carpal tunnel syndrome, information derived from an accurate patient history, with particular attention to occupational factors and habitual gestures, is essential for a correct picture of the problem, given that there are few secondary studies evaluating the reliability of clinical tests of the wrist-hand district. This article presents the clinical report of a 56-year-old woman whose work (handmade production of fresh pasta) involves repetitive movements requiring a high degree of manual force: the conservative management of the patient is confined to modifying activities and the use of orthoses.
