The Kinesio Taping method consists in applying to the patient’s skin an elastic, non-medicated patch that can stimulate the body’s healing mechanisms without limiting the range of movement of the body, as do traditional bandage methods. In 2016, a study was carried out on the treatment of postoperative pain with use of Kinesio Taping in lung cancer patients undergoing pulmonary lobectomy. The aim was to validate a standard method for applying tape in patients undergoing this type of intervention, evaluating its efficacy and safety in the treatment of chest pain and acute edema during surgery. Following application of the Kinesio Taping, patients in the experimental group reported a significant and constant reduction in chest pain on all the days in which they were tested and the results obtained suggest that use of this method in the surgical setting may be safe and effective.
