The etiopathogenesis of groin pain syndrome (GPS) of traumatic origin is often due to an indi- rect muscle injury. In this contest, injuries of the internal obturator muscle are among the rarest injuries occurring within the hip external rotators muscle group. Despite their low incidence, they still need to be considered when a case of traumatic GPS is presented. This study reports the case of an internal obturator injury in a professional football player who complained of a GPS of traumatic origin.
