Rotator cuff calcific tendinopathy is a painful shoulder condition characterized by the development of acute pain in the presence of calcific deposits in the rotator cuff. It mostly affects women between the age of 40 and 50 years. In this case report, we discuss a woman with acute symptoms which were presumed to be related to a calcific tendinopathy in a resorptive phase. Given the difficulty of diagnosis and assessment of this condition, which is predominantly self-limiting, we proposed conservative management aimed at managing the acute pain. Patient education and information will be an important part of the management as well as the dialogue with the specialists, the scope of which is to provide the most appropriate pharmacological control of pain. Imaging findings will also be useful to confirm our diagnosis but are not an essential part of the clinical management.
