Calcific tendinopathy of the rotator cuff is a pathology the natural evolution of which usually ends in spontaneous resolution; however, in some cases it may give rise to a chronic or recurrent clinical manifestation. In clinical practice, it is useful to know the factors that are considered to be negative prognostic factors for this condition, in order to identify subjects at risk of a more complex outcome and for whom more resources need to be dedicated for their treatment.
