Hip arthroplasty outcomes: identifying the prognostic factors

In people with symptomatic degenerative osteoarthritis of the hip joint who do not respond to conservative therapies, hip replacement surgery is to date the most widely used and recommended strategy, with proven effectiveness in reducing disability and pain. But, does surgery fulfil all the patient’s expectations? In fact, it would be very useful to identify the prognostic factors that can influence the outcomes of surgical treatment.
