Physiotherapy, focused as it often is on the study of manual therapy, has in recent years reappraised the importance of hands-off treatment. Therapeutic exercise is, for many pathologies, the most effective therapy (scientifically supported) and this is why it is necessary for physiotherapists to know how to juggle the two within their field, and if possible to enlist the support of graduates in motor science to provide each patient with the best EBM therapy path in every phase. In particular, recent evidence-based studies reveal a clinically significant effectiveness of exercise in reducing chronic musculoskeletal pain.
