Communication technology played a key role during the COVID-19 pandemic, reducing exposure to the virus, preventing overcrowding of health systems and implementing intervention services. Professionals were able to continue providing therapeutic interventions through new technologies such as tele-rehabilitation (TR), facilitating the continuous connection between operators and users, and ensuring high quality care and continuity of treatment. This article describes the processes implemented and the adaptations/modifications made to the physical exercise programs regarding two projects which began pre-COVID but continued during the lockdown period thanks to the use of TR: i) “Prehabilitation for Major Abdominal Cancer Surgery”, a pre-surgery rehabilitation intervention in cancer; and ii) “Scoliosis Online”, a motor rehabilitation project in Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS).
