The ulnar nerve is a complex anatomical structure that originates from the C8-T1 nerve roots of the brachial plexus and travels through the upper limb to the hand, passing through several critical points. Its anatomy and pathway make it vulnerable to compression and injury in various areas. This article provides a detailed description of the ulnar nerve’s course, highlighting the main points of compression. Additionally, it describes palpation techniques and neurodynamic tests used to assess the functionality and integrity of the nerve.
