Knee osteoarthritis is a chronic degenerative condition that impairs joint function, causing pain, stiffness, and muscle mass loss. It is one of the leading causes of disability and limitations in daily living activities. Conservative management includes patient education, load reduction, pain control, and a targeted therapeutic exercise program. Exercise has proven effective in improving muscle strength and joint function, with significant benefits observed within the first two months. The exercise protocol involves both low- and high-intensity phases, in open and closed kinetic chains, and is tailored according to the severity of the condition and the patient’s clinical profile.
