Elbow stiffness is a common consequence of trauma and is a disabling condition that remains challenging to treat. Treatment of post-traumatic elbow stiffness can be conservative or surgical. The conservative management of post-traumatic elbow stiffness aims to reduce the pain, and increase the range of motion (ROM) and extensibility of the soft tissue in order to counteract the deleterious effects of immobilization. Evidence supporting the use of manual therapy in the treatment of post-traumatic elbow stiffness is insufficient. Nevertheless, despite the scant data available, numerous articular techniques have been described, such as those for soft-tissue therapy.
