Patellofemoral pain syndrome represents a scenario with rather high prevalence: since there is no gold standard linked to particular anatomopathological changes, the diagnosis can be made in the absence of positivity to inspection maneuvers intended for other conditions and in the face of a pattern of typical symptoms and positivity to some clinical tests.
