The Harris Hip Score (HHS)1-3 is a hip-specific, multi-disabilities score and, one of a kind, joins a staff administered questionnaire with a basic clinical examination of the patient. It is the most widely used scoring system to evaluate patients treated with hip joint sur gery, particularly total hip arthroplasty.
It is reliable and validated in italian language1-3.
The questionnaire is composed by 8 questions, each one scoring differently clustered in 2 domains, named pain (1 question) and function (7 questions).
Clinical examination takes into consideration deformity and range of motion. Maximum score is therefore 44 (no pain) + 47 (full function) + 9 (full ROM, no deformity) = 100. Minimum score is 0.
