Focused shock waves are a therapeutic technology now widely used for musculoskeletal disorders, with a proven efficacy, supported by solid evidence in the literature and with recommendations for use formulated in national and international guidelines. Radial shock waves are currently also used in this area.
In the musculoskeletal field, by virtue of their analgesic and antiphlogistic effects, extracorporeal shock waves represent a valid therapeutic opportunity, together with physiotherapeutic treatment, for patients suffering from musculoskeletal disorders.
