In 2010, the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) drew up a series of recommendations for the diagnosis of osteoarthritis of the knee, thanks to a dedicated task force that carried out a systematic research of the scientific literature on the subject. This was followed by discussion amongst the experts in order to arrive at a consensus, through Delphi procedures. The conclusions they reached generally attribute a high accuracy to clinical criteria (medical history and objective examination) in the diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis in persons over 45 years of age.
