Ankle sprain represents one of the most frequent musculoskeletal injuries to the lower limb. The most common mechanism of injury is the combination of inversion and adduction movement of the foot in a plantar flexion position. This movement can result in stretching or even rupture of the ligamentous structures of the lateral compartment. Most ankle sprains are treated conservatively: in the article some useful exercises are proposed, starting in the first seven days post-injury.
