Rotator cuff-related shoulder pain (RCRSP) is the most common condition among shoulder disorders and is most often addressed and treated conservatively. To maximize shoulder function, it is important to recruit not only the muscles specific to the rotator cuff, but also the muscles that can stabilize the scapulomeral joint and those involved in lowering the head of the humerus, as well as the entire upper quadrant involved. The exercises proposed in this article start with precisely this second group of muscles, since at first the rotator cuff may be irritated and sore.
