Virtual Reality (VR) is referred to as “an interactive experience of immersion and simulation in an environment with real-world objects created by a computing system that responds to the user’s movements in real time”.
In actuality, patients can be presented with VR either through non-immersive visual presentation technologies or in immersive mode (e.g. with glasses). Even in the non-immersive mode, you can work with input at varying degrees of complexity in a safe and regulated environment. It can also let you oversee and control the length and level of difficulty of jobs that aren’t feasible to complete in the actual world. In addition, it gives the individual a purposeful educational opportunity and offers support and inspiration throughout the recovery process.
Though its precise mechanisms of action are still unclear, virtual reality (VR) has already piqued the interest of neuroscientists, particularly those working on neuroergonomic research, who see it as a valuable tool for neurorehabilitation.
